Marian in warm warm Singapore
Hello loyal readers!
I am in Singapore, as you can probably tell by the title, and it’s bloody hot. Well, not so much hot, but rather humid indeed. So, we got here last night after a fairly uneventful flight, and then found our hostel, “Sleepy Sam’s”, which is right next to a Mosque, which sounds cool in theory, but you definitely don’t think it’s cool at 5:30 in the morning when it wakes you up with random prayer calls over the loud speakers of death as I like to refer to them as.
Anyway, last night Alice and I went of a boat ride along the singapore river, which was really nice, and then got backed in to a corner by random people trying to get us to eat at their restaurants. We ended up eating somewhere that gave us 30% off and free beer, so all in all it was a good night.
This morning we went to Little India for breakfast, which was pretty cool considering we had no idea what we were ordering, just going blindly by pointing at pictures. I have decided that it is a really cool idea to order the most vulgar looking thing off the menu at all times. So, today I got some pink milk that looked suspicios, but tasted rather delicious.
We then proceeded around little india to be chased by random people wanting to sell us stuff, which is a good exercise opportunity the way I see it. After that we walked through some shopping malls and then back to the hostel for a rest. Now Alice has locked me out of the room accidentally so I’m downstairs hogging the Internet and chatting to random Norwegian people.
I met some awesome Swedes last night from the same University as I was at in Linkoping. So we ended up talking until the early hours of the morning this morning, and we’ll meet them again tonight at the Night Safari. Hopefully I can go visit them in Sweden also because they’re a really cool bunch of people!
So now we’re off to the Zoo, followed by the Night Safari. Lots of photos to share when I get around to it, but for now I best be off.
Leave me a comment or two and let me know what you’re up to!
Love from Marian
