There is a very full mosquito in Singapore somewhere…

… selling my blood on the black market. Itchyyyyy!

So, where were we? Ah that’s right. My epic journey continues at Little India on Saturday, where Alice and I wandered around aimlessly for a while before meandering off to the Zoo. Oh, at little India we had some really crazy vegetarian food from “vegetarian corner”, which, quite surprisingly is situated on a corner, and sells vegetarian food. I can’t remember exactly what I had but I remember it being good.

Anyway we went to the zoo and had our pictures taken with various animals (or perhaps just really small people dressed in animal costumes- you never can tell), and then to the Night Safari where I indulged my inner child and had “Bongo Burgers”, which I remember fondly from my last trip to the Safari more than 5 years ago.

The Night Safari itself is a bit of a tourist trap, but it was amusing to see dimly lit nocturnal animals none the less. The Japanese had their own tour bus, and I was outraged at this discrimination to say the least. Where was the Australian tour bus? Just because we are meant to understand English doesn’t mean that we have any idea how to understand Singaporeans most of the time because they speak so fast! Anyway, I amused myself by making miscellaneous animal noises and making my own commentary throughout the tour.

The next day we woke up and went to Chinatown, followed by a trip to the airport to drop Alice off. I then met with Nafeesa’s mum and family and went back to their house for a good old catch up chat. Today I’m going to go to Sentosa Island with my friend Hasif and then tomorrow to Melacca with Aneesa and Mustafa (who is 6). Mustafa has taught me how to play Yu-Gi-Oh, but I still have no idea what it actually is, and he always seems to make up his own rules and win anyway.

Anyway, until we next meet, take care and remember to pack mosquito repellent.

Love from Marian
